Art in Public Places

There are several Art in Public Places venues throughout the Morongo Basin. Each location offers members to showcase their artwork on a rotating basis throughout the year. Displays are managed and coordinated by volunteers. Check out our Art in Public Places calendar of events below! Please contact us to be added to an open venue to show. This is a members-only program of the MBCAC.
Members: Please send your art images to your managers so we can post these on social media sites and in the monthly news flash.
Please fill out the “Artist Consignment Form” and the Terms of Agreement at the bottom of this page. The paper form is no longer available. You may pick up the artist cards at the location below.

They will send checks to MBCAC on the 15th of every month for the previous month.

29 Palms Inn & Restaurant /Not taking any new bookings until August 2020 for 2021. This venue is completley booked until 2021.

Two Artist can show at this location at a time.
Venue Requirements:
1.) Artist please stop by and look at the hanging system at the 29 Palms Inn Restaurant prior to showing up to hang. This will help you determine if you need to make any adjustments to your art prior to arriving the day to hang your show.
2.) The 29 Palms Inn has an art hanging rail system and do not allow any attachments to the walls like nails, thumb tack and stickers. The product below is allowed for attaching the cards to the walls.
3.) The 29 Palms request that Art cards are to be used on card stock not stickers.
4.) This is a family environment “NO” Nudity or suggestive content.

Terms of Agreement-Rules and Regulations
In partnership with MBCAC exhibition venues
MBCAC Receives 15% Venue Receives 15% Artist Receives 70%
Payment:
Venue collects payment from the buyer and the MBCAC subtracts the Venue's consignment fee. MBCAC pays the artist when payment is received from the venue. Please send a copy of the art sold to the treasures office: Alexander Poulakis at alexbookkeeping2@gmail.com. Alex will send an invoice to the venue for payment.
Eligibility:
Interested artist in the AIPP must meet all current criteria of MBCAC.
1.) Must be a current MBCAC member.
2.) Artwork must be original and executed by the member submitting the work for display.
3.) Artwork submitted must have been created within the last 5 years.
4.) Works produced with commercial kits, molds, patterns, prefabricated forms, or commercial methods are not allowed. All ceramics must be hand-crafted by the artist.
5.) High-quality limited edition prints of no more than 200 from one source, signed and numbered by the artist, will be permitted. This includes photography.
Exhibiting Member Artist Responsibilities:
Artist is responsible for delivery, handling, set-up, removal and replacing sold items of their own artwork at the venue.
MBCAC Responsibilities: MBCAC shall provide solicitation, promotion, exhibition management, and scheduling.
Insurance and Liability: Artist who desire insurance on their own artwork must purchase at their own expense. MBCAC will not assume responsibility for exhibitors or their venue's personal injury, theft, robbery, accident, fire or damaged. Liability waiver. The exhibitor’s venue will not assume responsibility for exhibitors or their venue's personal injury, theft, robbery, accident, fire or damaged. Liability waiver.
